English

English is all about the communication and interpretation of ideas, in written, visual and/or oral forms. We look at how language is used to create effects and manipulate us, and how deeper purposes can be revealed through closer study. Ākonga will also learn to use these techniques purposefully to create effects in their own work.

In English classes, ākonga will study written, visual and oral texts in a range of lengths and forms. They will produce their own writing, develop research skills, and think critically about how ideas relate to their own experiences and the world around them.
