This is a mix of skills and theory-based assessments which aim to build students' confidence and experience regarding employment, work & study skills, social & community skills, self-management, and communication skills.
Students will learn about job seeking, employment processes, workplaces, and the law to increase their knowledge in these areas.

This course includes applications, enrolments & job-seeking skills, C.V.s or résumés, self-management skills, social & community skills, and financial skills.
This course will strengthen your literacy. You will practice and improve your ability to follow instructions, access information and explain yourself clearly. This will help you with course and job applications, skills for work and living, and law (your rights and obligations).
We aim to complete two workbook assessments per term (4 - 6 credits per term), with alternative assessments for those who may have completed these standards in previous years.

Contributions and Equipment/StationeryStudents will need their own laptops to participate in this course.
Please note that courses will go ahead only if student numbers, staffing, and timetabling allow it. Where a subject is oversubscribed, and there are insufficient numbers or resources to create an extra class, a ballot system may be applied.
Costs
KHS aims to deliver educational courses over and above that which is funded by the Ministry, however parental contribution for the costs of trips and activities where participation is optional, and/or components not covered by the Government grant may be requested, and we appreciate the financial support our families make to the School.
