Music students are welcome to make it a full-year course by selecting both this course and Year 10 Music 2 - Semester 2 Only

This course provides our students with access to the world of music in fun and interesting ways.

Music in the 21st century is a large and ever-changing industry. With music being more accessible than ever before, more possibilities exist for students to take musical pathways.

Through this course students will learn to think about music in a new light, and have their eyes opened to the possibilities within it.

Music improves language and reasoning skills, engagement in school, and can help students learn valuable self-management skills, it also boosts self-confidence and social skills. Most of all however, music is really fun!

This course will take students from passive listeners to active participants and creators of music and regardless of whether students plan on being musicians their whole lives, or just for a semester, there are many tangible and transferable skills students will develop through taking year 10 music.

The content of this course is suitable for all skill levels, so while there are no musical prerequisites to take year 10 music, if you do have experience, you will be supported and challenged to improve.

Students who choose to take music will also have priority over access to school instruments and free itinerant instrument lessons. A massive opportunity for any young person looking to play music.

It is likely the School will opt into the donation scheme for 2024, however parental contribution for the costs of trips and activities where participation is optional, and/or components not covered by the Government grant, may be requested. We appreciate the financial support our families make to the School.
