Level 3 Art Design
Course Description
Teacher in Charge: Mr B. Morrison.
Level 3 Art Design extends and expands on skills learned in Level 2 Art Design.
Students are required to develop their own ideas and themes over the year, in consultation with the teacher. Students must utilise and develop their own interests in their work. Students are encouraged to explore, research, and be influenced by established artist models, but create their own design style. Students learn further digital and hand-rendered techniques.
Opportunities arise each year for students to publicly exhibit their work and enter competitions.
The 14-credit exam is created during class time and is a cumulative display of their year’s work.

Costs
The Board of Trustees has again asked to opt into the Ministry of Education donation scheme. Doing so resulted in the ability to waive student fee donations. Kaiapoi High School aims to deliver quality educational courses over and above those that which is funded by the Ministry. It is likely the School will opt into the donation scheme for 2024, however parental contribution for the costs of trips and activities where participation is optional, and/or components not covered by the Government grant, may be requested. We appreciate the financial support our families make to the School.
