Level 3 Dance

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Miss K. Hamilton.

Level 3 Dance explores dance performance and choreography in further depth, focusing on preparing them for a higher technical level of dance. The course is achievement-standard-based, with a total of 22 credits on offer. 18 credits can be gained internally and four externally.

Level 3 Dance moves on to a more professional level of dance,  extending students’ dance technique and expression, and their ability to create, teach and prepare dances, including design aspects, for public performance.

Students will again enjoy the opportunity of attending live performances, participate in dance workshops with dance companies, and continuing to develop their ability to analyse and interpret a professional dance performance.

The Board of Trustees has again asked to opt into the Ministry of Education donation scheme. Doing so resulted in the ability to waive student fee donations. Kaiapoi High School aims to deliver quality educational courses over and above those that which is funded by the Ministry. It is likely the School will opt into the donation scheme for 2024, however parental contribution for the costs of trips and activities where participation is optional, and/or components not covered by the Government grant, may be requested. We appreciate the financial support our families make to the School.
