Level 2 French is an all-encompassing course expanding on learning the French language and culture. This course builds on the learning from Level 1 French, focusing on the key concepts and core strands of communication, identity, and literacy.
In this course, students will develop their capabilities to both simultaneously use and learn the French language. A wide variety of topics and skills will be covered to support the development of communication as the core aim of this course, focusing on listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
Students will be internally assessed on speaking and writing, and externally assessed on listening and reading skills.
Two internal and two external Achievement Standards are offered in this course. Learning is assessed throughout the year; during class time and for homework, as well as in the examination in November. An additional optional internal assessment is also available.

Costs
The Board of Trustees has again asked to opt into the Ministry of Education donation scheme. Doing so resulted in the ability to waive student fee donations. Kaiapoi High School aims to deliver quality educational courses over and above those that which is funded by the Ministry. It is likely the School will opt into the donation scheme for 2023, however parental contribution for the costs of trips and activities where participation is optional, and/or components not covered by the Government grant, may be requested. We appreciate the financial support our families make to the School.
