Level 3 Te Ao Haka
Course Description

Te Ao Haka is a culturally responsive art form, providing opportunities for all ākonga to engage in Māori culture, language, and traditional practice. Te Ao Haka is founded on Mātauranga Māori, but is progressive in the development and evolution of the art form.
At Level 3 students will refine their performance skills and deepen their understanding of their own experience within Te Ao Haka. This is reflected in the evaluative and performance-focused nature of the standards.

Pathway
Intrinsic to Te Ao Haka are culture, language, and identity. Te Ao Haka is a vehicle used to wānanga and communicate culture, Tikanga, knowledge systems, and iwi traditions.

Costs
The Board of Trustees has again asked to opt into the Ministry of Education donation scheme. Doing so resulted in the ability to waive student fee donations. Kaiapoi High School aims to deliver quality educational courses over and above those that which is funded by the Ministry. It is likely the School will opt into the donation scheme for 2024, however parental contribution for the costs of trips and activities where participation is optional, and/or components not covered by the Government grant, may be requested. We appreciate the financial support our families make to the School.
